Track: Coilguns – The Wind To Wash The Pain

Coilguns have shared another track taken from the band’s forthcoming album ‘Odd Love’, which is due out on 22 November 2024 via Humus Records. The new track ‘The Wind To Wash the Pain’ showcases a more reflective side, composed, written and produced by the band. Recorded by Scott Evans (Kowloon Walled City, Thrice) in the Ocean Sounds studio, Giske (Norway), mixed by Tom Dalgety (The Pixies, Ghost, Royal Blood) and mastered by Robin Schmidt (Liam Gallagher, The Gaslight Anthem).

Commenting on the single, lead vocalist Louis Jucker shares:

“When you’re feeling down again, and that pain feels like an old one, something you’ve felt already, almost familiar, too normal to be dangerous, yet too real to be ignored, only thing you’ve left to do is wait for the wind to wash it all away. Until it comes back again.”

This is a moment to breathe after the manic previous singles. Dominated by the striking, doom-filled bass line and shimmering chords, Jucker’s tombstone vocals become almost meditative. Taking a sinister mood to bring the track to an earth-shattering close. Tracks like this are where you glimpse the band’s stunning songcraft.
