Coheed and Cambria have shared a new track entitled ‘Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)’ and comes after the bands very sucessful previous single ‘Shoulders’
It’s been almost three years since the bands last album, ‘Vaxis I: The Unheavenly Creatures‘, was released as the band’s returned to the conceptual narrative of ‘The Amory Wars’ in what was said to be the first of a 5-part series of albums. It seems with the release of ‘Shoulders’ and ‘Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)’, that part 2 is on its way.
Vocalist / guitarist Claudio Sanchez elaborated on the genesis of “Rise, Naianasha (Cut The Cord)” explaining:
“Rise, Nainasha’ explores the reach of love and loyalty and the reality that sometimes you need to be more than a shoulder to lean on – you need to become the destroyer.”
Powerful vocals lead this epic of glowing rock that steps up into their huge anthemic style that sits all restrained until they unleash their full fury on the chorus. The track takes time to breathe before the guitar burst back in for the final assault. The band prove once again they are one of the greatest songwriters and storytellers within their genre.
