CAMILA DE LABORDE, who hails from Mexico City, and Münchner Daniel Hermann-Collini have been recording together as Camila Fuchs since encountering each other in London back in 2012.
The band released their debut album Singing From Fixed Rung, in 2016, which they followed by signing for ATP for 2018’s Heart Pressed Between Stones; now based in Lisbon, they’ve built a global cult following, playing Primavera Sound and All Tomorrow’s Parties Festival and sharing stages with an eclectic array of artists such as Plaid, Actress, Starcrawler, William Basinski, Braids, and The Orb.
They’ve got a new long-player in the can for Felte Records, Kids Talk Sun, which will be out on November 13th, with Pete Kember, aka Sonic Boom, at the faders; and they’ve just dropped the off-kilter, roaming and playful electronic textures of “Come About” as a come-hither. You can watch the psychedelic visuals below.
It’s an open space of electronica ethereality, kept tethered by a little Morse-like dit-ditting and a louche drum shuffle, giving room for Camila to roam insouciantly in her vocals like a young Björk. It’s psychotropic and appealing and I want to hear more from this duo.
“Come About” follows the radiant first single “Sun” and the intoxicating psychedelia of “Moon’s Mountain“.
Camila Fuch’s Kids Talk Sun will be released by Felte on November 13th on digital download, CD and transparent yellow vinyl; you can pre-order your copy at their Bandcamp page, here.
