Scottish singer-songwriter Callum Easter has followed up news of his new album – Green Door Sessions, out on 21st August on Moshi Moshi, with a new track taken from it ‘Tell em Boy’.
Of the process the album took, Easter says “The premise was to record the versions of the songs I’d been performing live using mainly accordion, drum machine and drone,” he says. “One take, no overdubs, straight to tape. All done in Glasgow’s Green Door Studios.”
Tell em Boy see’s the drones and drum machines underpin this folk ballad, driven from Easter’s accordion, which lays down chords and leaves space for his beautiful vocals, which manage to draw you in as well as smother you in the emotion of it all.
