Out rit now is ‘Saffron Yellow’, the new single taken from London singer-songwriter Bryon Jarman-Pinto’s debut album ‘Cage Anschluss Aviary’, out on Tru Thoughts on July 26th.
“It’s based around a narrative of nonsense that speaks of escape and exploration” Jarman-Pinto explains , “At the time [of writing] I was feeling exasperated with the album, I had strong anxiety around it”.
Certainly, although its dressed up in a folk/soul exterior, there’s something of 5e anxious that permeates the track. The insistent backing, stabbing chords, and dribbles of synth/electronics gives it this impatiently feel, despite Jarman-Pintos smoky smooth soulings (is that a word even? Dunno but I like it) draped over the top.
