The Canadian-Italian twin sisters Emmalia and Sarafina Bortolon-Vettor, who make up Bonnie Trash have released a new track ‘Perfect Moment (A Beautiful Reunion)’, taken from their debut album, ‘Malocchio’, which is set for release on October 28th via Hand Drawn Dracula.
The band share the track with a video shot and directed by Sam Maloney, commenting:
“How do you see yourself dying? How do others see you dying? How does it feel to be left to die, when there’s nothing else you can do, waiting for that ‘perfect’ moment of one last euphoria: a beautiful reunion. This song is a genuflection to all of the nonni who passed during the pandemic and could not be held.”
Scratchy guitars give a sparse, industrial and paranoia filled backing to the brooding vocals that seem to hold some joy and a little bit of hope. It’s cold as death yet a bright light shines that is Sarafina’s angelic voice that breaks through the noise. It’s a track that cements the duo’s sound after the previous brilliant singles.
