Track: Bones Ate Arfa Share Explosive Title Track From Upcoming EP ‘Akimbo People’

Brighton based Alternative-Rockers Bones Ate Arfa share the title track from their anticipated debut EP ‘Akimbo People’.

Led by frontman Arfa, who has worked with notable artists such as Isaac Holman (Soft Play) and Kate Nash, Bones Ate Arfa has been turning heads with their gritty sound and dynamic live performances. Their robust social media presence, particularly on TikTok, has fostered connections with bands like Bad Nerves and solo artist LOU, earning them nods from prominent acts such as Royal Blood and Tigercub. With early support from influential platforms like BBC Radio 6 Music and Radio X form the bands previous collaborations with rapper Dread FM, the band is poised for a mammoth UK tour throughout August.

‘Akimbo People’ perfectly captures the band’s signature style, blending thunderous riffs, infectious melodic vocals, and an unmistakable sense of joyous energy. Anchored by a fuzzy bass riff and driving drums, the track is embellished with pitch-shifted guitar lines, creating a soundscape that sits somewhere between Queens Of The Stone Age and Royal Blood. Arfa’s lead vocals range from filtered and distant to forward and catchy, culminating in an inviting, high-octane alt-rock sound with splashes of experimentation.

In discussing the new single, the band shared: “Akimbo People is about losing the closest person to you and having to distance yourself from them in order to grow. We recorded all the instruments at home, which we feel adds a raw, garage-band vibe to the track. The EP as a whole explores the unpredictable nature of relationships, with the title track perfectly embodying our sound and the themes of the project.”

Their energetic performances and distinct sound and creativity shines on the new single, building anticipation for the new EP and highlighting the band as one to watch.
