Track: Bis – There is no point (other than the point that there is no point)

Following a lengthy absence, disco punk legends Bis are back with a new album ‘Slight Disconnects’, out now via Last Night From Glasgow, and from it a single “There Is No Point (Other Than The Point That There Is No Point)”.

Of the record, the band say it’s “Already a live favourite, it’s a frantic romp through Blur, Bowie and The Damned but with Manda [Rin, aka Amanda MacKinnon] on full riot mode. There’s even time for an electro section and a panoramic middle eight. It’s been kicking about the “to-do” list for a while and I still don’t think we understand it”

It’s this typically odd slice of singalong weird elecro-indie-punk. It twists and turns, fighting its way of the back with extending phrases, changes of pace and orchestration. It shouldn’t be possible to dance to it, yet you get this almost uncontrollable urge to try. And that’s got to be a good thing, right?
