South London rapper Benny Mails has released his new single ‘Buried Alive’ ahead of opening for Ghostface Killah and Raekwon in London and appearing at the Great Escape. Produced by Josh Crocker and Tom Henry the track, ‘Buried Alive’ is, according to Benny “… about the pressure of needing the amount of money you need in London to survive, and on the other hand not letting it become something that’s overwhelming emotionally. It’s about not allowing yourself to be stuck in the grip of debt.”
It’s begins with this gently soulful backing, as Mails lays down his rhymes and ideas with some style and insight. As it begins to unfurl, there’s this buzzing basslines and sprawling percussion as he shows his skills, upping the tempo and intensity of his rhymes.
