Inspired apparently by a recent trip to Mexico City for a festival, Life Goes On is the new track from BEAK> taken from what we are told is ‘a forthcoming EP’. Evidently the band were rudely awoken by the screams of a young girl, which turned out to be a recording used by scrap-collecting carts urging people to bring out old beds and washing machines. As such the track features the young girls voice in the intro.
Geoff Barrow and the boys bring their motorik psych/krautrock over to south america, imbuing the spirit of Santana along with way, as the track features these meandering latin sounding riffs and a myriad of percussion, draped over the menacing backing and standard straight up but hard to forget melodies.
The EP is out via INVADA Records on June 12th.
