Scunthorpe’s Burridge has shared her new single ‘Cigarette Smoke’. A track that is a full-throttle angst-heavy number produced by long term collaborator Sean Kennedy (Muzz, Shelly Ravid, Voicians).
Burridge states:
“I wanted this track to be a nod to Joan Jett and the heavy influence she has had on my music. The song is about getting stuck in a rut with the routine of seeing someone with it going nowhere, accepting it but also questioning why.”
With stadium-sized drums, vocals sneering with attitude and bass so low you could trip over it, ‘Cigarette Smoke’ firmly plants Burridge into the one to watch camp. Punchy guitar breaks through the angst to lay down a sizzling track backing up the confident performance from Burridge. More please.
