Algerian-Canadian artist and singer-songwriter drops his highly anticipated EP, Let Me Land today, and we premiere the lead single “Icarus” here at Backseat Mafia.

This is a track that transcends mere musicality; it’s an emotional odyssey. “Icarus” serves as the emotional apex of Haddour’s sonic narrative, delving deep into the complexities of love and loss.

“Icarus” unfolds like a brooding electronic symphony, each note resonating with raw emotion and unbridled passion. Haddour’s soulful vocals glide effortlessly over a backdrop of haunting synth-driven electronica and pulsating trap beats. The result is a sonic landscape that is both mesmerising and hauntingly beautiful.

He shares “Icarus is the final song on my five-track EP ‘Let Me Land’. It completes the narrative of a failed love cycle that the tape explores. The tape cycles through all the emotions of love; it starts with the promise of a new-found love in ‘Left the Party’. Icarus is about the inevitable low when romance crashes and burns.”

As the final chapter of Let Me Land, “Icarus” captures the euphoria of newfound love and the crushing weight of its inevitable demise. Through his evocative lyrics and impassioned delivery, Haddour paints a vivid portrait of heartbreak and redemption. Its soaring melodies will echo in the hearts and minds of listeners long after the final note fades away. Stream it now.
