9T Antiope is a Paris-based Iranian duo made up of Nima Aghiani and Sara Bigdeli Shamloo. They have shared their new track ‘Mount 22’, a rhythmic and hypnotic track from their forthcoming album, ‘Horror Vacui’, which is set for release on the 12th of April via American Dreams.
Expanding on this further, Aghiani and Shamloo offer:
“Spaces and objects might possess narratives extending far beyond their physical existence. In the realm of sound enthusiasts, objects could harbor echoes of every place they’ve ever inhabited. A stone nestled within the workshop of a stonemason might encapsulate the entirety of history itself.” With Horror Vacui, 9T Antiope daringly explore unveiling the ‘auditory memory’ of places and things.
A wonderful engaging piece with hypnotic vocals and transfixing melodies that inhabit a mystique that is both hair raising and completely captivating. Shamloo’s vocals act as a balm to soothe the sharpness of the violin and the grittiness of the cello. What the duo have crafted is an almost spiritual track that is very much needed in this world.
