Manchester indie quartet VALA have released the follow up to recent singles Want Your Love and Summer Air with a new track, Say you want It (that way).
Of the track, the band say “We recorded the track entirely ourselves in various kitchens, spare rooms and living rooms and it was mixed in that kitchen by the lovely indie-pop artist Sfven (Jamie Clarke). We then blew all our budget, which we’d saved by self producing, on sending the song to be mastered at Abbey Road Studios.
The song itself deals with feelings of not wanting to get much older, and struggling with the realisation that you might not always have a full, youthful head of hair.“
If its upbeat, melodic indie pop you need in your self-isolated lives right now then this, with its harmonies and loveable melodies and swagger that just seems to make you smile. Damn them, they even got me at it.
