ILLINOIS skatepunks Counterpunch are ready to acid drop into the new year with a new single – yay! It’s coming out on 7″, so that’s a proper single in my book – entitled “Handbook For The Recently Debriefed.”
Even better? They’ve put together a little lyric video for the track, which we’re more than a little tickled to be hosting right here; have a squizz.
The 7″ is their first new material in nearly seven years – when they released Bruises on Aaron Abeyta of NOFX’s Cyber Tracks. And the fire and the power and the kicking against the pricks remains unabated, as you can tell from that shredding and those lyrics, aimed at the taken-in: “We’re gonna party like it’s 1899,” they spit.
The 7″ is coming out on January 29th on Thousand Islands Records in the States and SBÄM Records in Europe; there’s a clutch of variants – yellow and red, green with yellow splatters, and yellow with blue splatters – and they’re already available to pre-order over at Thousand Island Records, here; with red and blue splatter and sky blue vinyl test pressings at SBAM, here.
