February see’s The Cult, one of Britain’s most influential rock bands, return with their 10th studio album “Hidden City” and a nationwide 10 date tour.
Originally starting out as The Southern Death Cult in 1981, Ian Astbury and co. were at the forefront of a new scene and helped pave a way for gothic rock to become a welcome addition to the burgeoning post-punk scene. Teaming up with Billy Duffy in ’83 saw the band shorten the name to Death Cult and eventually The Cult. It would be in this guise that they would deliver some of the finest and most legendary hits of the time – “Rain”, “Fire Woman”, “Love Removal Machine” and of course this little gem…
HIDDEN CITY, the album, is out 5th February 2016 via Cooking Vinyl. The release, produced by Bob Rock (Metallica/Mötley Crüe) and written by Ian Astbury and Billy Duffy is the third and final album of the trilogy that started in 2007 with “Born Into This (“The Fall”) and 2012’s “Choice of Weapon (“Dark Night of the Soul”). To celebrate it’s arrival The Cult will be hitting the road for the “Alive In The Hidden City” tour, which alongside tracks from the new album will feature fan favourites from the past 40 years.
Tickets are on sale now via SeeTickets and MyTicket.
