HELL, we’ve all been there. The bleary bemusement of the digital clock reading 3.29am. Jeez; and you have this weird intuition, something is off-balance somewhere.
In a rare, more introspective moment, Bristol’s crisp party beatz outfit The Allergies have released a video for “I Just Got That Feeling”, making a groove out of the 3am wobbles.
Of course, a rhyme about the nature of trying to get on, get by in the cosmos is supplied by collaborateur-in-chief Andy Cooper, aka one-third of old-skool California legends Ugly Duckling, who steps out with the speech on a trio of tracks on The Allergies’ latest, Say The Word, which is out now on Jalapeno.
He’s in good company there alongside the core duo of Rackabeat and DJ Moneyshot, who reckon Andy is “now officially seeking official Allergies citizenship”; he’s joined on the album by the outrageously funky The Cuban Brothers and the deep soul vibe of Marietta Smith – check the party vibe of “Take My Love”.
The Allergies’ Say The Word is out now on digital, CD and gatefold double orange vinyl formats; there’s also merch bundle options available over at their Bandcamp as we speak.
