French DJ and electronic musician Sebastian has released a new single, with an accompanying video directed by Gaspar Noe. The video for “Thirst” was also produced by French fashion house Saint Laurent, for whom Sebastian created the soundtrack for their autumn/winter 2017 collection, unveiled in Paris.
“Thirst” is an ambient electric track that sits somewhere between R&B and electro, with some almost trance-like moments. It has an almost menacing feel to it at times, matched by the visceral depiction of a nightclub fight in the video. Mick Foley and the Dudley Boys would have been proud of some of the carnage depicted, although Noe’s trademark use of camera moves and lighting means the overall effect captures the chaos and disconcerting effect of a brawl without quite spilling over into gratuitous violence for the sake of it.
Sebastian will be performing live this year at select dates across the globe. Full schedule is as follows:
24/05 – Les 3 Elephants Festival, Laval, France
