The art rock electronica instrumental duo Public Service Broadcasting is bringing their multimedia performance to the UK and Europe starting this week. One-half of the band, J. Wilgoose, Esq. (the other being Wrigglesworth), described their Nottingham gig earlier this year as “the musical equivalent of palliative care.” If you’ve ever spent time blissing out with their albums The Race for Space or Inform-Educate-Entertain on headphones, you already know this description to be true. Their own website promises:
PSB’s uniquely spell-binding live AV Transmissions see them weave samples from old public information films, archive footage and propaganda material around live drums, guitar, banjo and electronics as they teach the lessons of the past through the music of the future — beaming our past back at us through vintage TV sets and state of the art modern video projection devices.
