Talking about their new song ‘Detroit’, Gothenburg Shoegaze duo Pink Milk say is is “… written to a childhood friend; We were kids trying to be cool, smoking candy, blowing fake smoke in the air, dreaming about freedom.” There’s a splash of that innocence about the track, this wistfulness that pulls at the heartstrings, but given its wrapped up in these echoey drums and swirling, edgy guitars there’s something ore about it. It’s almost like drilling a hole in your head and pouring syrup in, all at once.
Check out the pair’s self-directed accompanying video, as a pair of boys hang out and do, well, boy stuff, in the main. Detroit is out right now via Woah Dad.
