Taken from their new album ‘Seaside Donkeys’, which is out today York post-punks Percy have revealed a new video for the track ‘Will of the People’. Not new to this game, they signed to Mook Records in the 90s, gaining airplay from revered DJ’s John Peel and Steve Lamacq, made single of the week in Melody Maker and at one point featured ex-Housemartin Hugh Whitaker on drums.
New Percy pretty much follows old, with anti-establishment / social commentary post-punk, built on this muscular, anxious guitar riff and propelled by this driving rhythm section. Over the top, frontman Colin Howard gruffly spits his ire at the state of the nation.
Check it out, here along with the rather brilliant animated video that accompanies the track.
Percy’s album Seaside Donkeys is out now via Vinyl Eddie Records.
