A much-needed soothing caress of sound from Myles Sanko. Amidst the pain, anguish and frustration we all face collectively as people and creators, Soul Sensation Myles Sanko manages to capture an honest sense of hope, compassion and encouragement in his latest release, ‘BlackBird Sing’ .
The fourth single from Sanko’s upcoming album Memories Of Love, released through Legere Recordings on March 1, it’s a sentimental reflection to the sound of blackbirds. It’s the kind of encouragement we all knew we needed: Sanko’s laidback, Gregory Porter vibe vocals float over a delicately intricate jazz trio. The space in between the piano solo and Sanko’s singing is wonderfully delivered, quite clearly reflective of the soothing sirens of a blackbird. It’s almost as if Sanko composed the song right after conversing with the melodious blackbird. The chorus, “Sing, Blackbird Sing” is a reminder for us to continue to be inspired every day by starting with a song of hope in our hearts. This track is clearly it.
I look forward to hearing the whole album.
