“Flourish is like when my part of the world coming to life” says Jack Cooper of Modern Nature when talking about their new track, ”I live on the edge of London between Leytonstone and Epping Forest, so the signs of spring are very apparent round here – flowers, light, people talking in their gardens.”
That sense of earth and spring seems to purvey the track, which mixes up this sort of pastoral folk switch a little bit of jazz, in a way that Tim Buckley set some sort of blueprint for. With its plaintive Cello, repeating guitar lines and Saxophone, this has exactly the beauty and space and melody that he became known for.
It’s taken from their forthcoming 7-track mini album ‘Annual’, out on June 5th via Bella Union. Take a listen to the track and have a peek at the accompanying video, here
