Floating like a butterfly over verdant fields, ‘Reunion’, the new single from Melbourne dream pop duo Grazer, is a gloriously ethereal track that sparkles and shimmers like diamonds in the bright sunshine. Grazer first caught my attention back in July with the release of their double ‘A’ side single ‘Without You’ and ‘Visions’ following their signing to US label Cascine, and this release confirms their status as a band that is going to go far.
Crystalline guitars and indelible melodies that float in the ether deliver lyrics that are enigmatic and cool:
And it’s all, I need, Reunion, close to me.
And it’s all, over, feel it every time,
I close my eyes.
Grazer have today released a video, directed by Matthew Spiller and starring Mollie Wilson (both of whom, of course, make up Grazer) for the track that perfectly captures the bucolic air of the track, with a Picnic at Hanging Rock atmosphere: ethereal, floating and slightly mysterious. It is wonderful stuff:
