If you’ve heard Angel, taken from Loyle Carner’s new album ‘Not Waving, But Drowning’, which dropped last week via AMF Records, you’ll know it’s a laid back slice of Summer featuring long time collaborator Tom Misch. Unmistakably Loyle, being a straight up love letter to his “french Vanilla butter pecan”, it’s baked in soul and Misch’s smooth pipes along with a backing on buttery organ/synths and this huge bassline.
He’s just released new visuals to go with the track, directed by Felix AAA following Loyle, Tom and friends/acquaintances on their holiday adventures in Portugal, further buying into that Summery feel.
