You might recognise some of the names in Left Field Messiah. All the protagonists have form, with Steve Bays from Hot Hot Heat, Jeremy Ruzumna from Fitz & The Tantrums, and former Wilding man Erik Hanson making up the line- up.
They have an debut album coming up, In Praise of Bombast, due out July 23rd on Riptide, and from it they’ve released a new video for the track ‘Young Libertine’. Talking about the track, the band says “Young Libertine was an important moment for us because we landed on a new shade of LFM blue, combining early 90s hip hop tones and soul dance melodies splashed with some nice 80s pop moments. This is a song of firsts – rhyming libertine with figurine and x-ray machine with screen – and while our productions have been referred to as “maximalist,” this is one of our more restrained moments.”
Built on woozy chords and blue eyed soul, it has this glorious summers afternoon shimmer about it, with melodies and moods that catch the ear and take you on a luxuriant flight somewhere distant. Sit down, relax and be transported somewhere incredible, here
