Hot Chip’s long awaited (at least by us here at Backseat Mafia) album A Bath Full Of Ecstacy is out on June 21st, and it’s the first time the band have worked with external producers, drafting in Philippe Zdar and Rodaidh McDonald. They’ve now released another second song from the record, ‘Melody of Love’.
Apparently the track started out as a 12 minute instrumental track, but under the watchful eye of McDonald, the band have cut it down (it now clocks in at a little over four minutes) or frayed, uplifting electro/synth-pop, with this sweeping, slightly pensive melody at the core of things, as the vocal lines sweep over bubbling layers of synth.
Check out the Nima Nourizadeh directed video, where the band do their best Kraftwerk visual impressions.
