San Francisco quartet Flesh World are heading over to the UK for a bunch of dates next month including a couple of shows in London, in support of their debut album The Wild Animals in My Life, which is out now on Iron Lung Records. From it comes ‘Just To Tear Me Down’, for which the band have released a new video.
The track quickly builds from its bubbling open, with these insistent drums driving things onward until it unfurls into this noisey, gloriously messy slice of indie rock, albeit with a glance back at what 4AD might have done to it. The edgy guitar riffs interject with the vocal thoughout, but its built on these melodic foundations which, and if you’ve any heart at all, it leads to multiple playings. It winds itself up into a noisier, more boisterous ending.

Strangely, listening to Flesh World brought thoughts of being sixteen. 😉
