Dirt-pop trio Critics have just released the follow-up single to their debut ‘All I Wanna Know’, bringing a fresh perspective to their tunes with new track ‘Key Lime Pie’. The track takes an optimistic turn on its predecessor, exchanging those darker tones for funky vibes in preparation for summer heatwaves and that cool festival atmosphere.
The new single is accompanied by a music video, directed by Matty Daley, showing a bizarre number of scenarios that our band members Lynn, Jack and Jamie find themselves in. One minute the boys are blowing bubbles on the beach, capturing the song’s joyous vibes with a pool party; the next, they’ve been arrested by some particularly gorgeous police officers; then suddenly they’re on a building site with a tiny digger truck. There’s no rhyme or reason to this video, just fun, and you can’t really go wrong with that.
Critics have supported the likes of Vukovi and SayWeCanFly on their UK tours this year, introducing their vibrant live set to new and old fans alike. Their dark lyrics and light attitude provide an enticing contrast that’ll just leave you wanting more.
