Oh, we’re getting a shiver of excitement about Surrey’s new rock heroes Arcane Roots. Not just because they’ve announced a whole host of new tour dates across both the UK and Europe, but because they’re in serious danger of exploding into being one of the biggest rock bands in the country.
Their album, Blood & Chemistry which came out last year got almost universal praise from the taste makers and those in the know. It also showed that while they not towards the huge riffs and tunes of Biffy Clyro, they weren’t averse to things a little more punky, math or even proggy. What resulted was something surprising, exciting, and really, really good.
So far this year they’ve followed up support slots with Muse, Biffy Clyro and Coheed and Cambria by announcing they’ll be at HRH Prog and Download festivals this year, with more to come. Tickets are already on sale for the upcoming tour, which starts in Koln, Germany on March 26th, and takes in a handful of dates in Europe before heading back to the UK. Support on the tour in the UK will come from Empress and Boy Jumps Ship.
