Critically acclaimed Australian rocker Courtney Barnett and psych rock outfit Temples are among the first wave of acts announced for the seventh edition of Manchester Psych Fest on 30 August 2019. The festival will also bring London post-punkers Goat Girl back to Manchester, along with much-loved lo-fi duo The Lovely Eggs, fuzzy outfit The Cult of Dom Keller and Brooklyn based indie rock musician Sam Evian.
The festival has also announced a move across Manchester to three leading city centre venues; O2 Ritz, Gorilla and YES which will welcome over 30 artists across five stages. Festival organisers have continued their pledge to engage more women in psychedelic music and art, making a conscious effort to book more female artists with Yama Warashi, Echo Ladies, Cosmic Strip, Solis, URF and The Bleaches leading the fray. Also confirmed are hotly tipped Working Men’s Club and Anglo-Nordic post-rock duo Belle Sonder, as well as an array of DJs including PINS, Astral Elevator and The Beat Chics.
The festival will once again feature art installations from a selection of local artists and illustrators as well as pop-up street food stalls, more details to follow.
