Barrow-In-Furness Indie rock quintet The Silver Bars are back with a new single, The Long Night, and we’re delighted to be able to premiere it right here on Backseat Mafia today. It’s a follow on from their debut EP which dropped earlier ion the heart, and see’s them channel and refine their sound in a track about accepting the good and bad times in life.
Of the track, the band told us “With this song, It’s the first time we’ve taken a step back to see the bigger picture. We were meticulous in our decision making about the structure and sound of the song to create something that takes you on a journey. From the beginning, it was a song with a huge scope which also made it a great chance to truly push ourselves and become a more dynamic band in the process.”
Built over simple, charming guitar and piano lines, The Long Night begins with this little stately vignette, before a moment of silence brings us the muscular, guitar flecked main indie rock course with big chorus’s and bigger melodies, Noel like guitar solos and just this hint of melancholy which just squeezes at those heartstrings. The epic nature of the close brings both sighs and a need to see it unravel before you on a big stage.
