We are honored to premiere the new single ‘Melt’ from Melbourne band The Elsewheres. With a rollicking folk instrumentation, singer Oliver Northam’s unique vocals are filled with a raw veracity – a barbed wire coating dragged through a thorn bush laced with whiskey and regret, but with an indelible melody and passionate force. Harmonies and solo vocals from Grace Phillips soften the vocals, adding a filigree of silk.
Horns add a dynamic cinematic edge to the track, lending an anthemic and bold approach while a wild guitar solo tears through like a hurricane. This is exciting fare with an almost sea shanty abandon and a pulse quickening pace:
‘Melt’ is out everywhere tomorrow (10 December) – check here – and heralds an EP due out on 17 December. The Elsewheres have a special, intimate launch show with Emma Yue at a secret location on 13 December – see here for details.
