We are proud to premiere today the single from Sunshine Coast indie punk rock purveyors Muules, whose new track ‘Drain’ is a vibrant and throbbing track filled with a visceral rhythmic pulse that beats like a racing heart. Even more extraordinary is that the huge sound and attack comes from just a bass and drums (albeit with a tasty addition of horns for the single).
There is no doubt an indie punk Green Day vibrancy and sense of urgency: a huge and passionate melodic framework and some very crunchy, thumping bass.
According to singer Nathan Vasey, the track is:
…about trying to express your thoughts and feelings in a relationship that has dulled, and grown in to putting on a brave face while deep down you know you are doubting your own choices and lifestyle, and how easy it is to normalise shitty behaviour. In the end, the only person responsible to turning your life around is you.
The result is something very cathartic and joyous with the mountainous chorus and the scything riffs.
‘Drain is out on Friday, 20 August 2021 and you can pre-order/pre-save here. The track will be on Muules’ debut album coming out later this year.
Muules will be launching the single on release date – tickets here and details below.
