Ahead of the release of London based quartet Electric Litany’s third (and most ambitious to date) album ‘Under A Common Sky’, we are delighted to premiere the video for the album’s lead track ‘Azure’.
Sitting somewhere between the emotional textures of Mogwai and Sigur Ros, it’s driven from this sweeping, stately piano lines, as underneath electronics and snatches of operatic vocals sit amongst vast swathes of synths. The band exclusively told us, “Azure is the opening track of the album. It was inspired by the sounds of nightbirds and ocean waves as an escape from the city’s noise. The track was demo’ed in the band’s Docklands studio and took its final shape in a beach house in Corfu where the band finalised the material. ”
As a majestic and grand whole it pulls at the heartstrings and makes you feel tiny, yet significant. Beautiful, affecting stuff. Check out the beautifull shot video here, which sees the band performing the track.
