PREMIERE: Nick Leng is at his most vulnerable in clip for ‘My Mind is a Mess in the Morning’; new album next month

Six weeks out from the release of his new album, Nick Leng shares a glimpse of him at his lowest, with the title of ‘My Mind is a Mess in the Morning’ speaking for itself. It’s an emotional sucker punch detailing Leng’s struggles with his mental health and being amazed people still care about him in spite of that. It’s an all too relatable sentiment, and the song is beautiful to boot.

Says Leng of the song’s genesis: “‘My Mind is a Mess in the Morning’ was written while I was living in Topanga in a trailer park which, subsequently, (and arguably hilariously) became rat infested prompting a hasty departure.

Drey Jordan Singer directed the clip, which we’re premiering as a follow-on from last month’s double A-side release (b/w ‘Morning/Midnight’), with both songs taken from Leng’s second LP Spirals, out Friday July 22nd on SOTA.
