Leeds four piece Mush have been on an upward trajectory recently, becoming something of a house band at Brudenell Social Club, and supporting the likes of Action Beat and Ringo Deathstarr. We’re very pleased to be able to premiere there rather wonderful new track, Machine Envy, right here on Backseat Mafia.
It’s slow moving fare, as it tumbles over hazy and heady background music that borders on the hypnotic and eerie, weird tunings on the guitars soured by blasts of feedback and shrill, wiry solos. Over the top, the increasingly impassioned vocal is within the same territory as Mark E Smith, but if anything more measured. Its strangely addictive. Its strange, warped pop music at its very best.
Take note.
