Former Lucksmiths bassist Mark Monnone returns with a follow up to recent Feel It Disappearing single, with another – Time is on the run. It’s under his Monnone Alone moniker and is taken from his forthcoming album Stay Foggy, out on September 3rd. We’re absolutely delighted to be able to premiere the accompanying video right here on Backseat Mafia today.
Recorded at home, alone by Monnone (hence the name), Time is on the Run was recorded on a Tascam cassette 8-track, during last years lockdown, and was later mixed by Gareth Parton at Los Bomberos studios and mastered by Lachlan Carrick. It mixes things up between indie pop party jam, with these 60s Joe Meek like synths leading the dance as it pushes its way through your defences and ends up firmly in your psyche, with deft left turns here and singalong chorus’ there.
Check out the accompanying video, shot in black and white, which sees Monnone embark on a chase, with the central character being time itself.
