Recently we premiered Columbia, South Carolina artist Mindset’s single ‘Breakfast in Bed’, this Britton Rauscher produced synth heavy track, that when the chance came to also premiere the follow up, ‘I still use Netflix’, we jumped on it.
Of the track, Mindset says “The title “i still use ur netflix” came to me before writing the actual lyrics, I usually name songs after writing them. As one could guess, I was still using her Netflix account that was saved on my laptop (she changed the password once I started promoting this track :/). The song is meant to portray the silver lining to the heartbreak, at least I still have this; your Netflix account. While at the same time speaking to the fact that I have moved on, somewhat rubbing it in because she can see all of my anime series like “Death Note” in the recently watched category.”
This time, things are stripped back, as Mindset draws on the heartache, and turns it into a positive, over this stripped back acoustic guitar and minimal beats backing, with just vocal harmonies and some electronic hue for company. It’s positive, but soaked in melancholy.
Who says heartache don’t sound good. Check it out, here
