Premiere: Lookers heat things up with ‘Midnight TV Dinner’; debut album Deeper follows in April

The Providence, RI-based quintet Lookers have been taking their time in their musical pursuits; six whole years after the project’s genesis in 2019, the band are gearing up to release their debut album. In the spirit of continuing to make us wait, it’s not out for another couple of months yet, but courtesy of the band, we’re treating you to a new single and the record’s opener.

Of ‘Midnight TV Dinner’, the band say that they ‘strive to be sonically hard to place by ear alone as far as temporality goes, and between the five of us there are varying dispositions and influences. We wanted to capture some quintessential quality of Rock and Roll [caps for emphasis] with this song–to keep it fun, lush, and nostalgic. For this track, I’d say The Animals, Blondie, and David Bowie were on the palette.”

It’s ‘kinda 70s, kinda timeless’, according to them. You can check out the video for the song below before the song hits streaming at midnight. Being able to pinpoint their influences is important, but if you’re expecting pastiche, the album’s got plenty of surprises in store, and quite a bit worth saying in 2025. Deeper finally arrives on Friday April 25th via Almost Ready Records.
