Long standing Orlando rockers Kings County release their new single 7 Reasons today, and we’re delighted to be premiering it here on Backseat Mafia.
The band have been together since the mid 90s when they got together on Long Island, NY and over the course of their history have opened up for the likes of Bon Jovi and Ted Nugent, and there’s something of that feel about 7 reasons, albeit with a modern outlook.
Dark and emotive, it’s full of bustling, muscular riffs as it reaches the chorus. It’s the sort of song that make me want to adjust my shades, put my denim jacket over my shoulder and let the dusty sun beat down on my and the wind run through my long hair. And that is no bad thing. Except i have short hair, Don’t have the fashion props, and am stuck inside in a slightly chilly Sheffield. But if it moves you that much, it’s got to be good, right?
Of the song, the bands Robert Dexter says, “You really don’t know someone until a relationship breaks, that’s what the song 7 Reasons portrays. An emotional betrayal laid out from one’s deep personal thoughts, splattered on paper and ultimately exposed. We write songs that anyone can have a personal connection to, we all go through bad relationships but when you write about real life situations the listener tends to hold onto it longer and that’s how our song 7 Reasons was created”.
