Premiere: Kappekoff’s new single ‘Warmth’ is a (Jimmy) Smash in waiting

Not familiar with Oslo’s Kappekoff? You should be; you’ve got about a month to get your stuff together before his new album arrives, and we’re premiering the new single to give you a hand with that. The new record’s a counterpart to last year’s Old Spring, and was trailed by ‘Right Back to Where We Started’ back in July.

The actual lead single’s got a co-sign from Jimmy Smash and sounds suitably huge for a project that’s attained serious legs since main man Magnus Falkenberg kicked it off a decade ago, tipping the hat to artists like Todd Terje, Roosevelt & Lindstrøm. Speaking about ‘Warmth’, Falkenberg says: “I wrote ‘Warmth’ during the hot days of Oslo summer. My studio gets extremely hot in July, and I had recently bought a Warm Audio compressor—it felt only fitting to name the track after that warmth. Production-wise ‘Warmth’ is also the first song where I blended two distinct bass lines, recorded on two separate bass guitars, to create a dynamic, layered groove in the chorus. The track features the talented duo Jimmy Smash on vocals and additional production, adding even more depth to the mix. As the colder months approach, I hope ‘Warmth’ will bring you the heat.”

Get warmed up for New Spring below; ‘Warmth’ arrives at midnight, and its parent album follows on Friday November 15th.
