Premiere: John Alone Shares Video For Atmospheric New Single ‘handSUM (Feat. REEM)’

Genre-bending rapper and producer John Alone shares the elegant new visual for ‘handSUM’. We’re very excited to be running the premiere!

Bringing together elements of ambient electronica in with it’s stylistic R&B and rap tendencies. Bright, summery and feel-good the track brings a breezy, airy vibrancy with high filtered top-lines over a deep, humming sub heavy bass, rhythmic percussions. Bringing distant yet nonetheless, impactful melodies, the track is naturally ethereal though it’s bubbling atmospheric synths which bring a strikingly, experimental, alternative feel.

Highlighting the tongue-in-cheek songwriting, John Alone explains: “I wrote this about being fly/handsum. You wouldn’t get it.

The accompanying video brings a cinematic visual to compliment the tracks depth, all filmed through a sun-kissed filter which mirrors the track’s breezy atmosphere. Self writing, mixing, mastering, and occasionally producing his own tracks too, John Alone’ takes influence from a range of renowned artists including Frank Ocean, Lancey Foux, and A$AP Rocky. Brilliantly unique through it’s atmospheric electronica yet retaining a commercial R&B and hip-hop flare, the single is a prime example of the John Alone’s potential.
