Fever Queen is the moniker of Chicago based songwriter Eleanor Rose Lee. She’s releasing her debut album, The World of Fever Queen on September 10th via First To Knock, and from it we’re delighted to premiere her new single Charmer.
The album draws on her experiences working and travelling across America, and contains a couple of covers Brenda Lee’s “I’m Sorry” and Lee Hazlewood’s “For One Moment”. She mixes up psych pop, ethereal 4AD-like indie, and even surf, coloured by her experiences farming in Hawaii and cutting hair in California.
Charmer mixes up all of those things, with these splashes of guitar and wiry, repeating riffs backing up Lee’s beautiful vocal and these backing vocals that weave in and out. It’s all swathed in this beautiful melody along with guitar fuzz and echo to make something truly beautiful.
