Following a slew of support from BBC radio 6 Music, Radio X and Amazing Radio, Dread FM has come onto the scene with a bang, quickly establishing his rock-meets-rap sound. Now releasing a video for the track, the artists building momentum continues and needless to say, we’re very excited to be running the premiere.
An explosive 2.30 that grows from a mbira covered in an unholy amount of distortion to a thick wall of distorted bass, punching drums and screaming synths, Runner carries an infectious sense of energy through its vexing rap flow. Interchanged with moments of falsetto vocals from Bones Ate Arfa, the track carries an alluring intensity, best described by Radio X’s John Kennedy as “sounding so furious”.
Speaking about the single, Dread FM explain: “Runner is about taking back your control. The importance of getting back up when you’ve been knocked down”
Now accompanied by a video which breaks down the track and showcases how the soundscape was built with each elements recording process showcased with a split screen visual, the track is given a visual aid to help amplify the creativity on display.
