Die Twice are set to release the elegant, emotive and radiantly delectable new single ‘Paris’. We’re very excited to be running the premiere!
An ebbing and flow blue-rock instrumental backdrop, underpinned by soul sensibilities, ‘Paris’ is a rich and melodic track characterised by its warming sense of yearning melancholy. Produced by Ru Lemer (Foals, Tom Grennan, Nile Rodgers) and mastered by Mack Woodward (Michael Jackson, Maroon 5, Beyonce and Whitney Houston), the single is built around its swaying waltz drum beat, bright guitar tones and grounding bass, the track is led by the soaring, Jeff Buckley-esque vocals.
As the track builds introducing beautifully atmospheric layers of brass and reverb drenched swells of lead guitar, it explodes into a more distorted explosive latter third, capturing the expressive high-octane nature of the bands live sound. As comparable to Nothing But Thieves as it is to Paulo Nutini’s album ‘Caustic Love’, the single is an exciting taste of the bands upcoming 6 track EP.
Band member Olly Bayton explains: “Paris itself isn’t the muse, but the starting point for a journey. Jake and I wrote the song after our first trip to the French capital, which incidentally was our first trip abroad without parents. It feels to us like an escape from juvenile fear through experience and reflection, and a bit of a rite of passage!”
‘Paris’ is released ahead of the bands upcoming 16-date UK tour including dates in London, Manchester and Bristol. Catch them on the line up at this years Boardmasters and Wilderness Festival.
