Devon-born, British singer-songwriter and lead singer of The Loft Club, Daniel Schamroth, writes stripped-back, soulful indie anthems. His music sits somewhere between the worlds of Noel Gallagher, Ryan Adams, and Neil Young. Wearing these influences proudly on his sleeve, whilst still retaining his unique, emotionally charged sound.
In 2022 he released an EP titled ‘Friends & Brothers’, he is now set to release his forthcoming new EP next month via UK Label, So Let’s Talk. Until then he has shared his new single Cold Wind Blowing that we are very excited to be premiering the video for here on Backseat Mafia.
The track was recorded with a live orchestra at the Kinks legendary north London studio ‘Konk’ with mastering provided by Pete Maher (U2/Noel Gallagher/Damien Rice).
Schamroth said about the track
“I wrote the song about a friend of mine who was struggling and in a bad place. Despite the melancholic sound, there is an underlying positive message which hopefully resonates with others going through tough times.”
A shot of melancholy is laid down by a bright sounding acoustic as Schamroth’s storyteller vocals give the track a sense of hope. This is classic fireside indie that’s both warming and captivating thanks to Schamroth’s gentle soaring voice taking the track to new heights each chorus. Some people in life are just meant to write tracks.
