In little over six months, Houston singer-songwriter Courtney Jacobs is fast gaining a foothold with her jazz tinged pop, and so we’re delighted to be able to to premiere her new, third single Let Me right here on Backseat Mafia today.
Of the track, Courtney says ““let me” is an upbeat, laid-back song for strolling down the street or driving with the windows down. The jazz-inspired chords and retro hip-hop beat create a happy mood that aims to encapsulate those last few sunny days before winter sets in. The lyrics send a message of gratefulness to those who support people chasing their dreams, even if they don’t see the bigger picture.”
There’s a sunny dreaminess about Let Me, with its nods here towards hip-hop here and gluey funk filled bass there, all over these jazz chords that give it this warm glow. Best of all though is Jacobs smooth vocal that drapes itself over this earworm of a tune. Check it out, here
