Premiere: Chayse Porter announces new album for January & shares ‘Lead Pipe Cinch’

It’s always good to hear from San Francisco’s Chayse Porter, especially when he’s got a new record on the way. It’s shaping up to be a record you better make time for when it arrives early next year, and the lead single pings in so many different dimensions at once it’s quite difficult to pin down, with bold melodic leaps and a satisfying crunch to its guitar-focused bite.

It’s called ‘Lead Pipe Cinch’ and follows on from teaser track ‘Rolls of 35’, released in mid-September. Both songs appear on album three, the follow-up to 2022’s excellent Chay’s Palace, landing on Earth Libraries Records on Friday January 26th 2024. We’ve got your first listen of ‘Lead Pipe Cinch’ below; the album it’s taken from is called Endless / Boundless, and takes a more homespun compositional and recording approach than its predecessor, with Porter striking while the iron was hot and getting ideas down with little thought for the process. Inspiration came hard and fast, and the new record is the result of this no-frills action. Keep an eye on this one.
