PREMIERE: Catcher deliver a cathartic shock to the system on their powerful debut album ‘The Fat of a Broken Heart’

You may have noticed, but we like New Yorkers Catcher quite a bit. We broke the news of their debut album in this effusive premiere post of its lead single ‘Behind a Bleeding Heart’. Well, we got offered an upfront stream of said debut album and when we say there’s enough energy here to power a mid-sized town, we mean it. The Fat of a Broken Heart absolutely shreds.

If you like, say, METZ, Iceage, Protomartyr or early Preoccupations – or if you took the blueprint of shame‘s excellent second album Drunk Tank Pink and went all in on their more intense moments with a helping of noise rock for good measure – you’re gonna love this lot. 41 minutes long, and the only fat on offer is in the title.

It’s out tomorrow, and you can stream it below. It’s worth bothering your speakers about. Get in on the ground floor with these while you still have the chance.
